Swedish Massage might be the most well-known type of massage, the kind you would get at a spa. Long, gliding strokes, firm kneading, pulling and stretching are the main techniques employed. When used with an engaged and intentional pressure, Swedish massage can be profoundly relaxing and restorative. It increases flexibility, lowers blood pressure and boosts immune function.

Deep Tissue Massage works on the deeper level of tissue including the connective tissue. It utilizes some Swedish massage techniques to warm the tissue up and then employs trigger-point therapy, myofascial release to help relax the muscles. This should not be painful but rather a sensation of sweet discomfort.

Medical and Sports Massage address soft tissue issues due to a medical condition or sports related injury. The techniques utilized are the same for Swedish and deep-tissue massage and can include manual lymph drainage.

Pre-Natal Massage is a wonderful compliment to pre-natal care. It can help relieve many of the discomforts experienced during pregnancy including back/hip pain, headaches, swelling and stress. It is also a wonderful way for the mother-to-be to start to connect deeply with her body and her growing baby.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) and Cranio-Fascial Therapy (CFT)

What is it? CST involves manipulating the soft tissue of the body and the cranial sacral rhythm with a light touch no more than the weight of a nickel. It helps to regulate the cerebral spinal fluid and relives stress and dysfunction deep in the body.  It is extremely relaxing and serves as a re-set for your nervous system. CFT unwinds fascial strain throughout the body and can relieve pain and limited mobility that place restrictions on the brain and spinal cord.
